Our soil investigation process involves drilling test boreholes at key points across your site to collect soil samples at different depths, along with Standard Penetration Test (SPT) readings that indicate soil strength and density at each layer. These samples are then analysed in the lab for properties like bearing capacity, soil classification, moisture content, and the presence of any problematic layers such as soft clay, loose sand, or filled ground — all of which directly influence which piling method will perform safely on your site. Chennai's soil conditions vary considerably by area: coastal zones near ECR often carry softer marine clays, while inland areas around Porur and Tambaram can include harder lateritic or rocky strata, so a proper investigation is essential rather than optional.

The findings from this stage feed directly into your foundation design — determining whether bored cast in-situ, driven cast in-situ, or rotary hydraulic piling is the appropriate method, and at what depth each pile needs to reach stable, load-bearing strata.
