Background & Approach
S. Divya heads the investigation and testing side of the business — the work that happens before the first rig arrives and after the last pile is cast. She plans borehole locations against the structural grid, supervises standard penetration testing, and interprets the resulting borelog into design parameters a structural consultant can build on.
On the testing side she conducts initial load tests to establish safe load and routine tests on the agreed percentage of working piles, taking load in increments, holding each stage until settlement stabilises, and plotting the load–settlement curve that forms the certified test report.
She writes the geotechnical reports issued to clients, and is usually the engineer who explains to a first-time builder why a neighbouring plot's foundation design cannot simply be copied across the road.
Areas of Focus
Investigation planning
Deciding borehole count, spacing and termination depth for the structure being planned.
Test interpretation
Turning load–settlement data into a defensible safe working load for the structural designer.
Coastal soils
Marine clay, high water table and salinity considerations along the ECR and coastal belt.
